Requirements for the supply and purchase of work equipment have changed

In January 2021 there was a change to the arrangements for the supply and purchase of equipment. 

Now, all equipment supplied and purchased for use in the UK must have a UK Conformity Assessment Mark (UKCA).  While this UKCA Mark has already come into force, there’s a period of transition, up until January 2022, during which the EU’s CE mark for workplace goods will still be accepted. 

This change particularly impacts work equipment and lifting equipment.  Manufacturing will be one of the main industries affected, alongside other sectors which use this type of equipment, for example construction, engineering, retail and leisure.
